Ten years of experience and struggle against the stereotypes of popular hip hop culture, as well as the norms to which Iowans are expected to live by, Aeon Grey continues down the path of self discovery. With no interest in greatness, and no delusions of grandeur, Aeon Grey emerges as nothing more but another 80′s baby walking on the broken limbs of humanity looking for the rope ladder.

Hailing from a land full of rocks, pebbles, and dirt, Maxilla Blue has been left to their own int \erpretation of music and what it should be, and invites all listeners to do the same. After years of working independently of each other, building within their hometown of Des Moines, IA the members have come together to continue the invisible struggle. Consisting of the Mic Control of Asphate Woodhavet, Aeon Grey’s production and the vinyl finesse of DJ TouchNice, the group is known for occasionally employing hypnosis on audiences, through means of melodic, vertebrae-damaging instrumentals as well as intense vocal illustration of both the world we live in, and that which is hidden to the unseeing eye.

Coming to terms with the environment he lives in, GaiDen Gadema knows complacency all to well. People who wish to contribute to hip hop by “going with the formula” or emulating what’s “hot”, is an epidemic in Des Moines Iowa, a Dead Meat Industry. Gadema knows and by some odd fortune, understands those boundaries, however, chooses to smash them into inexistence! Raised as an army brat, Gadema’s travels have exposed him to a diversity of ideas, cultures and dialects which contribute to his music. A huge fanatic for hardcore street level hip hop, Gadema spills bars into the mic with kaleidoscope-like depictions of being a “regular everyday person”- just like you, however still, misunderstood by peers and onlookers alike.

Soulcrate Music, a hip hop trio formed in early 2002, hailing from Sioux Falls, South Dakota embodies the vibrant inventiveness and sense of community that defines Midwest hip hop. Mike Jupiter wakes up every morning, pours himself a cup of coffee and curses God for blessing him with his mother’s bone structure. Child bearing hips may be attractive on some, but take it from me: seeing Mike fully disrobed, wearing nothing but a smile is a ghastly sight indeed.
Mike is a Minnesota native that finds an odd sense of comfort in the ofttimes cold confines of his state. His character has been shaped by his surroundings and he prides himself in taking part in good old fashioned Midwestern heritage.
